What is Injury Prevention Training?

Injury Prevention Training is teaching proper body mechanics so that the body can move properly during activity/sport. The human movement system is one giant equilibrium. If one joint is misaligned or weak then athletes are at serious risk of injury. By teaching athletes the proper way to move we are limiting the stress put on the body while also decreasing the chances of injury.

What is Sport Specific Training?

Sport Specific Training is assessing the movement patterns done by each sport and then replicating them during strength training. Teaching athletes how to move is one thing, but teaching athletes how to move as they do in their sport is crucial as it will expose them to what their body might feel and deal with during sport.

What is Strength Training?

Strength Training or another term some may use, resistance training, is performing exercises with the use of weights or bodyweight movements to strengthen muscles, joints, and ligaments to prevent injury. The specific technique we use is called the Joint-by-Joint strength training technique. The way this technique works is we assess each joint of an athlete and their postural alignment. We then use weight training using proper body mechanics to make sure each joint has proper mobility and stability to prevent injury.

What is Velocity Based Training?

Velocity Based Training is a way we can track the maximum velocity/speed produced by an athlete during weight training. The way we track these statistics is by using accelerometers to calculate barbell/hex-bar velocity. What this allows us to do is identify and target specific movement patterns that we can work on to make an athlete more powerful. An underrated characteristic of Velocity Based Training and one we use is the ability for us to optimize load management. If an athlete is not creating as much force as they did previously they may be fatiguing, therefore this allows us to reduce their training loads making them custom for each athlete on a week-week or session-session basis.

The Energy Zone

Athletes are constantly on the go from one thing to another. Optimizing your performance in school, on the field, and in the weight room has a lot to do with Nutrition. Therefore, our Energy Zone is designed for athletes that have a busy schedule and need to grab a healthy snack to keep their energy high and their brain working at top level.
